Turmeric Oil has the same spicy, fresh woods aroma as the powdered spice used in Eastern cuisine. It is in orange-yellow colour, slightly fluorescing liquid, the odour of which reminds one faintly of curcuma. It contains a mixture of phenolic compounds called curcumin, volatile oil with turmerone and zingiberine; cineole, protein, vitamin A and other vitamins.
Turmeric oil finds applications in the pharmaceutical industry because of its role in relieving pain, anxiety and stress. It also is a popular insect repellent. The benefits of turmeric on the skin have been well proved so that it is used extensively for cosmetics. It can also be used as an ingredient in tooth pastes.
