The oleoresin chiefly contains volatile oil, resin and yellow colouring matter known as curcuminoids. The main component of curcuminoids is curcumin. Tumerone, zingiberene are the other constituents of volatile oil. It is reported to possess many pharmacological and anti-inflammatory actions.
